Jojoba
Jojoba (pronounced Ho-ho-ba) oil is technically a liquid wax ester extracted from the seeds of Simondsia chinensis, a desert shrub that can survive hundreds of years at temperatures as high as 122 degrees and grows in the dry, arid regions of southwestern United States.
Because Jojoba is actually a liquid plant wax and not a typical vegetable oil, it has molecular qualities and is not likely to deteriorate. This gives Jojoba oil superior shelf stability to any other carrier oils. A small amount (10%) added to blends can extend their shelf life.
Jojoba oil was used for centuries by the Apache Indians and Indians of Mexico as a scalp tonic.
Jojoba oil is a universal skin moisturizer, ideal for all skin types with great healing and penetrating properties. Due to its fatty acid profile it closely resembles our skin's own sebum.
Especially good for: normal skin, dry skin, blemished skin, mature skin, sensitive skin, combination skin, aftersun care, dermatitis, eczema, inflammation, dandruff, oily scalp, hair and nails.
